My hunting buddy has never been to a field trial but the dogs in the 1st 5 generations of his pedigree have placed in over 700 field trials. He actually traces back to half the Hall of Fame for the breed and 8 out of 10 of the dogs that the breed was founded on in the US. He's a 3 yr old Brittany & I've been seriously thinking about putting him up for stud. He's listed on the Brittany Organizations web site, his pedigree is on-line and I can trace him back up to 26 generations on some of the branches of his pedigree. The Brittany Org's web site has tons of pictures of Champion dogs as well as the last 20 years of field trial results & dog's pedigrees in a massive database (pretty cool if your into Britts): www.brittany.org/My Dog: Kay-Cee Princes' Duke (just Duke to his friends) and this is how he responds when I ask him: "Want to go get some Birds!"

THanks Mike,
One of my favorite Britts I have trained was Liver and White, your Duke reminds me a lot of her!

Not only are our DK's hell on birds...... They hunt hare as well.... We also use them to blood track wounded game fro unlucky hunters...

Now, that's my kind of hunting buddy, add in waterfowl retrieving and it would be gold! I use my Britt on birds and waterfowl, he's getting to where he likes to sit in the blind with me. He also gets excited when he sees/hears the ducks & geese flying around the house. We've got several ponds in the neighborhood that birds are nesting on.

Mike,
They have to be waterfowl dogs as well to pass their tests. We don't get much out much with them for Geese but they can do it! Versatility at its best! Some of the local wheat farmers have been complaining about the geese, so we might oblige them, and alleviate a few!
Whisky has tracked a few wondering altzheimers (sp) patients from a nursing home too! He was also featured on a TV show called Breed all About it on Animal Planet with some of his offspring that are SAR dogs.
