no apology needed by any one, obviously this is something i feel, very, i mean, very strongly about, if any one needs to tone it down a bit it would be me "AAA- ha-ha-ha-ha-hah", loud cackling laugh bellows across the room, glazed eyes darting back and forth, drool running down my cheek, a labored heavy breathing, "hheeee, heeeEEE", a candle flickers shadows across the wall, the bobble head of a schnauzer atop my computer is slowly nodding his head, taunting me in a soft menacing whisper, "do it.... do it..... do it".......... anyways i tend to write very passionately with a lot emotion about what i feel dearly, i hope, by all means any one that has as much disagreement with my point of view can speak freely, believe me i will see and understand an opposing view, may not like it and jump down your throat, but hmmmmm.. we're all hunters here, may not agree with all points of view, but we need to remain united. hogs never dealt with them and hope they never become the next plague, although i have heard of some talk of folks trying to "release" hogs in WI, oh boy the fun that could be had with that> (my sarcasm, sometimes it eludes some, i need to member that) by the way i must've been typing this as texasrack was, but he beat me to the punch, did i mention i love this site!!

Here in Arkansas huntin Deer over bait is legal .......until the last month of Deer Season Jan. 15th to Feb. 15th.
This subject has got me and many others into some serious , heated debates in the past. I really dont see how it is for one hunter tellin another he or she cant hunt over bait when there state said they could. Its a choice that hunter (legal wise) makes. I really hate this subject because too many friendships stopped bein friends. When the acorn drop starts deer feed on them , some hunters place there stands near white oaks, some by food plot wheather man made or not. Some place attractents and others use the rut. Some hunt over fruit trees and other corn feeders or piles. Is it really our place to tell someone how he or she hunts, like some one tells us how to raise our children or our marriage . I believe there is only one that makes any judgement. I really hate this stinkin topic. Ya know the state places there Game & Fish Dept. to make them choices and they know what is right for the state they are in. Me a Arkansasian from a great state, yes I have hunted over bait and I also havent . What do ya call bait, corn piles, feeders, fruit trees, fields, weather they are planted by man or natural, acorn drop from whiteoaks or hickory, black berries from a wild black berry bush. Most of my deer have been taken on trails to or from food or bedding. I said the rut earlier in this post, we use Tinks 69, or what ever your choice is, weather it is drip bottles , or scent pads or strips, or just pourin it on the ground, mock scrape, the list is endless. Baitin is lurein game to our stand or blind. Scents and other can be use in the same fashion. Is that considered Baitin? My comment is this ya'll what the state said is legal so be it and if that hunter in that state desires that so be it , but another hunter in the same state doesn't so be it. It's not my place to cast judgement on a brother or sister hunter or sports man or women. I support them weather some thinks it totally wrong, the Baitin topic has been in a War like topic that has parted brothers and sisters from other forums. The war is out there with the anti's who are wanting our right to hunt and bare arms. I'm not sayin there is a war here, but I've have seen it and been in it first hand, and will not ever go there again. Remember Brothers & Sisters theres power in numbers, dont split or divide it.

Move to MN, no baiting allowed here, all un natural bait like salt licks, feeders, etc, etc have to be removed two weeks prior or you can't be within so many hundred yards.

We arent allowed to use bait piles in TN but planting food for deer is legal. We normally tend several food plots to pull deer into our lease area.

I remeber thinking at one time that Uncle Ted was the man. That was until I watched one of his shows were he was hunting in Africa. All the foliage around him was brown and dead, then you look and you see a pile of green alphalfa looking grass. Kinda bummed me out a bit. All I can say about it is I wouldnt do but if someone else has to do it and it is legal more power to them. Same way I feel about party hunting here in Iowa. I wouldnt do it but if they have to , more power to em.

That was back in 2/5/2003
Wonder how he feels now, since the HOT ZONE has spread and into other states as well. If they are sure CWD is spread through Siliva what good can allowing baiting do to slow down the spread of the disease anyhow? I think he has shot himself in the foot on this one
