Went out Sunday. 55mph wind. Sat in a tree in the bottoms. Not to bad except when the gusts about ripped the tree top off. Definitely glad for a safety harness! Wind not bad near evening. Shot at a fat doe, wind gust blew arrow off and just cut the fat in front of her leg. Not even one drop of blood. She ran up the hill into the corn. Farmer was picking it today. Maybe I'll start seeing more deer finally. Walking out there were 20 deer in the middle of the picked bean field. guess they were too skittish with all the wind to stay in the woods.

One thing in your post that hit me was your safety harness, I was talking with one of the men that teaches the hunter safety course locally and he told me that a man fell 19 feet out of his and hit his head on a rock when he landed. He was not using a harness and in an old wooden abandoned tree stand. You never know what is going to happen so we need to be as safe as we can. That was just last week, about 20 miles from the house.

waxing moon 20% light SE breeze 64 degrees. Six bucks came in this evening. Large high racked 9 pt. thin beams. Booner next year. Most likely won't make it past the gun season this fall. Young 10 pt, l g3 broken off at 1" , both g4's only 1" not broken. At least 2 years til this one gets to booner. Fork horn feeling his oats. rack not wide enough to span the 10 pt'ers face. 10 pt'er put up with his stupidity for a while, then walked off. Love scent eliminating soaps. All the guys came in from directly downwind.

Stuck a doe Monday. Figured it was a good hit as it broke shoulder bone going in and got one lung (found a chunk of it in the blood) based on the blood trail. Went home for a few hours and came back with my wife and some lights. Followed the blood in the bottoms. She refused to cross anything going up or down. She doubled back on her blood trail a few times and looked like she finally laid down until the wounds closed up. None of my arrow ever fell out of her body. We searched for three and a half hours and never found new blood or her. I went back the next day a looked for another three hours in all directions. Unless the river got her she seems to have survived. Snow today here. started at 9:40 this AM and is still snowing now at 16:00. Just starting to stick to the colder items on the ground. Maybe by morning it will be white in the woods. Unfortunately it will be very crunchy. Temp is supposed to drop to 22.

Been shootng high all season. Decided to take deer today even though it's small. Still gonna get about sixty pound of boneless meat out of it. An hour after I got it it started to snow. Got an inch already now.

Took one of my friends sons out with me Wed. He's 14 and can't sit still I found out for more than three minutes. We had seer come in to within 60yds before they had enough movement from him and disappeared. He wants to be a bow hunter but without some drugs i don't think he'll ever make it. Second problem i learned with him is he can't draw more than 25lbs. That can be worked on. Oh well, After five minutes in the field I knew it would be worse than with my grandsons. He enjoyed going out so it was good.
