Hi I'm new to this Handgun forum .I was thinking about buying a Taurus Raging Bull in 44 Mag 8-3/8 in barrel for hunting Deer Hogs and Moose also can a Scope or Reddot be put on without much problem. Im a Turkey hunter but my 16 yr old son would like to get into Hunting with a Revolver also can you shoot 44speicals also with this gun Thanks for your time Turkeydude

Any 44mag can also shoot 44 spec. As far as using it on Moose...Don't think I would... Mounting a scope or Red Dot should be no problem.... If it is not drilled, a rib mount system will do fine.

I would move on up to the .454 casull if I wanted to hunt moose with a handgun, Taurus makes the Raging Bull in the .454, Its just a 5 shot instead of 6, I have one and love it, You can compare the ballistics between the .44 and the .454 and see why it would be a much better choice for moose.
The recoil is really not all that bad from the .454, not as bad as I thought anyway, and it shoots great. I have mine mounted with the Taurus rib-mount base, it works good and I thought that it came with most of the new .44's and .454's, if not they are readily available, might be a little pricey though.
