My August issue of Field & Stream contains an interesting article by David Petzal comparing the various bullets we use for hunting. It gives some pros and conc for Barnes, Hornady, Noslerm, Remington, Sierra, Swift and Winchester. There's also information (pictures) on the shapes of recovered bullet as well as something called a Ballistic Buffalo for determining bullet penetration. A lot of this was information I was seeing for the first time, and I was impressed. Although the data was compiled from factory rounds, all the bullet are available to us for handloading. I was quite impressed. Best wishes.

I saw a similar article in Petersen's Hunting magazine (August 2005 issue pgs 58-61) where they did a review on 10 premium ammunition cartridges. Seems as if Swift A-Frame, Speer Trophy Bonded, Remington Core Lokt Ultra, and Hornady InterBond all topped the list... in that respective order. Pretty interesting reading!
