Does anyone know where or if I can get ahold of some .38 Spl. Shotshell so I can use them in my S & W and also in my .357 Rugers? I would like to get some as it would be alot easier than carrying my .410 along in the woods or when I go fishing! Thanks in advance for any appreciated info...Bill

I read an article that said that the 38 special will have just about the same effect on squirrel as a 22, that there is only a little more meat loss.
Is this true??
I am thinking about a marlin 357/38 for everything from yoties down, just not for sure if this is how I want to go or not.

Have never hunted with this caliber and don't intend to. Just have my weapons for plinking, self protection and snakes. I would use something larger than a .38/.357 for game altho I did shoot a doe in season once with my Ruger.357 but she was only about 20 yards from me......Bill

I was going to tell him to make is own also . The recommended shot size for 38/.357 is 9 and 1/2. .44 is 7.5's . I have made hundreds of shot cup shells for 35 caliber. It is so easy its unreal. I found that out of a 4-6 inch barrel that 4-5 grains of unique was all i needed for very close range shooting. remember even with a 6" barrel that shot will spread almost 1.5 inches per foot from the barrel. And most big chain stores will carry it as well. Dicks , gander, bass pro shops, even seen it in wally world.

:(You can't find that size shellshot in any stores in Mountain Home and that is why I asked for help. With snakes here I don't understand why they don't handle that size shot??? As far as reloading, I know its cheaper to load your own but the cost to start is too much for me with the few rounds that I need. So now I know where to buy some-thanks to ya'll!! ;D
