I am thinking of starting to hunt with black powder and would like your inputs on what type of gun to get and what kind of set ups.

I hunt with the T/C~OMEGA~50 Cal. Never had a miss fire or any trouble with it, Easy to clean . I would say go to a Real Good Sporting Good Store,, Take a look at several ML. & see how they FEEL, I also shoot a Investarms~54 Cal..Side hammer, No trouble with it ,but it takes longer to clean ..

check in to an H&R HUNTSMAN 50cal. for the money you can't beat em and they make a 243 barrel for it so you can have two guns in one.

I noticed my local wal-mart had a CVA Kodiak magnum .50 cal. for $169! It has a black synthetic stock and "satin nickel" barrel. I paid $199 for mine with a blued barrel in the off-season 2 years ago. This is my first muzzleloader, and I love it. It is easy to clean, was easy to sight in, and is a bit lighter than some of the more expensive rifles. I like the lighter weight for all of the walking and maneuvering in brush where I hunt.
