When in a Motorcycle shop getting a battery for my son's ATV I noticed the shipping cover for the battery vent is a small rubber cover that fits just perfect on the nipple on a muzzle loader , thought it be a good tip for others. if you know some one in the motorcycle business , I am sure they could get you a couple ,for there were several just laying around.

That's a good tip George...also, at automotive supply stores you can find the little blisterpacs of 1/8" black rubber tips like that too...they're used to slide onto & plug the end of a vacuum pipe sticking out of a throttle body, etc...

I thought the situation was talking about storing/protecting the nipple...but for actual hunting with a loaded caplock, I use the what are called "Kap Kovers".
100% weather proof, and provides a positive safety to a charged/capped muzzleloader...just Google up Kap Kover
