Have any of y'all owned and or shot some of those on the market today? I was looking at the Armisport model with 1 in 48 twist .58 cal. for deer hunting. I am still getting the T/C Firestorm. I am in need of the joy of hunting again not just killing! ;D

This .58 caliber rifle was in production c. 1862-1865, with a total quantity of 12,501. One of the most popular of martial longarms with collectors, the Remington Zouave is among the handsomest of all military arms, and quite possibly represents the highest degree of craftsmanship ever found on mass- produced martial weapons. This gun was produced at the Remington armory at Illion, New York, during the simultaneous production of the .44 caliber New Model Army percussion revolver, to satisfy Government contracts and the urgencies of the Civil War. antiqnet.com has an original for sale @ about $2500
