Does anyone shoot one or hunt deer or other big game with one? I am saving up my coins to buy a T/C Firestorm. ;D Hunting with my Black Diamond has become push safety off = dead deer! I miss my old Renegade, sold it for the new modern inline i have now!

Traditional muzzleloaders, only way to go, if you want some fun....Ive bought several kits to make......one is a 50cal percussion Kentucky, and two Hawkens in 54 cal, one percussion and one a flinter.....I also built a 50 cal Hawken style pistol, and have several Navy BP revolvers.....I hunt with the 54's.......

Anyone hunting late season in PA use flintlock muzzle loaders (restricted to do so - also must be open sights and use patched round balls as well!).
T/C make fine muzzle loaders, won't go wrong with one of their guns.
I have a .50 cal. Tennesee Mt Rifle I made from a kit from Dixi Gun works and man is it fun to shoot! A real bugger to clean, but fun to shoot!

I hunt with a flintlock...mine is perty old... My dad had it when he was my age (16) and just a few years ago he passed it down to me, now it is my ML. I am very proud to have this ML as my dad has killed tons of deer with it, and then he passes it down to me?? Yeah! So far i've killed one deer with it, a doe that you guys remember me posting, "Opening Morning Success"? and the pictures in "Re: Opening Morning Success" Well here's my baby!

I have been doing lots of searching on the net for ML's. I contacted TVM and was told they build round ball shooters. I am waiting on another email from Toni Vance, as they said that about 54cal. So i asked about 50's also. I am looking for one that has faster twist to shoot conicals. Looks like my 1st.choice is still the one to get,T/C Firestorm. Its drilled and tapped to mount a scope, has the 1 in 48 twist to stabilize conicals and can shoot round balls if i choose to. I can get Wal-mart to order it and cost is$415 including tax! Unless they have went up in past 60 days! ;D I got the second email from TVM and they will build ML that shoots conicals if you provide the barrel! They will deduct $65 from price but you can't buy a barrel for any thing close to that price.

I have a Traditions side hammer precussion cap, but thought that I would like to have a flintlock. I got flint...working for the Division of Mining and Reclamation for the State, I get to go out on mine sites and I pick up some flint every now and then just to add to my rock collection.
I would like to get the kit form though and build it myself. I like to do some unusual stuff to the stocks. I have a 22 that I have a WV belt buckle in the butt stock of the rifle.
I also would like to get a shotgun muzzleloader to hunt with.

I stopped by Dixie Gunworks and picked up a few things i needed fer Renegade. While i was there i got to looking at those Longrifles, most were flintlocks but a few were perc. I was drooling and had become real glassy eyed. So i had to leave quickly before i went into debt that i could never recover from! ;D

FWIW, if you get a TC Hawken, then you can use Green Mountain "drop-in" barrels...they make a variety of drop-in barrels in different calibers, different twists, rifled, smoothbores, caplock, and Flintlock.
