I have been considering it for a few years. But I have not found a front stuffer shotgun that I like at a reasonable price yet.

Yeah, I'm right there with ya... I've wanted to hunt turks with a smoke pole for a while now but for some reason or another never got to gettin to it. Maybe in the next couple of years I'll definitely make it happen. It would be a nice added touch to go even that much more traditional when it comes to jellying their heads!

Sometimes for a challenge I take my 50 out and try hitting em- I've only got one so far- but it sure is fun.

I tried it a couple times but no shots.
One year I took it every day I hunted in Illinois. One day it rained and I took my shotgun. You know it I bagged a nice bird with my shotgun. Then I came back to PA and hunted every dry day with my ML, wouldn't you know it I bagged another one on a rainy day with my shotgun.
One of these years I'll try it again!

In 10 years shooting a ML shotgun, I have taken 2 birds with mine.. For all my shooting, I use 90 gr., R/S Pyrodex powder, 1 1/8 oz #6 shot with T/C shot cups and Full screw in choke..Depending on what game I'm going to shoot ,I can change the screw in chokes to fit the game ( full or modify).
Checkout my ML's in "what do you shoot?"

I only have the ML rifle and i used shotgun on turkeys. I just haven't harvested enough with shotgun. Like a lot of the rest i like to get a ML shotgun and try it. I have a Bow and a xbow but haven't tried using them yet either!

I would like to give it a try, but the only muzzleloader I have is my old Traditions side hammer lock precussion cap 50 caliber. Don't think that would work on an ole tom.
I have looked at maybe getting a shotgun type muzzleloader, but they seem hard to find. I think it would be a lot of fun though.
