Iowa has proposed using lime green as an alternate color for flourescent orange during their gun seasons. The idea seeems headed for passage. I like the idea. It's a color not normal in the wild, yet as a green it may not spook deer as much. What do you think?

in times of low light such as dawn and dusk I believe the orange stands out better as the lime green will appear white( I only know this because I,m on a bridge building crew and we have to wear florescent vests and I've noticed that the green ones appear sort of white in low light while the orange ones hold their color). Just my 2 cents

That sounds a bit dangerous in low light then. Might be a good reason to not allow it.

There is nothing in the woods that is flouresant orange. But the green could blend I would think. I say no for safety.

I think what sometimes happens with this type of thing is that some hunters have a personal preference rather than actually thinking about statistical fact. Which really stems off from the likelihood of safety over personal thought.

I had to go with the orange but to be fair to the people that like the lime green when the leaves start to fall go out 50 to 100 yards with your Friend blind folded have them take of the blind fold & see what one they see first. I bet it will be Orange & I wont every one to see me be for it is to late.

There are way too many hunters here in MI. People hunt alot of public land around here. Alot of them... seems like they hear, point, click, and shoot. We unfortunately have about 5-10 accidental shooting fatalities here in MI because hunters don't wear their orange or because people brush-shoot and don't know what they are shooting at

IT'S BEEN LEGAL HERE IN ARKANSAS FOR YEARS NOW. I HAVE EVEN WORN THE HAT. BUT I WOULD NOT GO WITHOUT AN ORANGE VEST. I THINK PEOPLE THINK TO LOOK FOR THE ORANGE BEFORE SHOOTING I DON'T THINK MOST THINK TOO LOOK FOR THE GREEN. EVEN THOUGH IT HAS BEEN LEGAL HERE FOR YEARS I HAVE NOT SEEN MANY USE THE GREEN AT ALL. I WOULD STAY WITH ORANGE FOR SAFETY PERSONNALY.
