Hey 1075, welcome to the world of bow huntin ... and the Racks and Spurs Club! First off, everything you described in your post certainly sounds more than suffice in beginning to get the job done! Hunters, bow hunters, in particular, enjoy personalizing their bow set-ups, according to their preference and taste. If time is of no essence, I'd visit every bow shop near my house, Dick's, Bass Pro and etc. Get a Cabela's Huntin' Catalog and start droolin' ... if ya haven't all ready. But ... whatever you do, go to a small, "mom and pop" operation that knows and lives the world of bow huntin'. Not only will they "set you up" but they will personalize and familiarize you with the "hows and whys" of bow huntin'. Can you pull back your 70# Black Diamond Ice Bow? Usually, for example, your "mom and pop" shop will set you up with less poundage to pull back, utilizing a lighter arrow, with the same speed. Generally speaking, at Dick's or Bass Pro your just a sale, but your "mom and pop" shop looks at you like bread and butter and wants your patronage ... often. They are more willing to go out of their way to meet and exceed your expectations. I have the Spot-Hog sites and really like them, mine has the light for shadows or low-light levels. How did your wife come to choose the Black Ice?

Heck no ... I don't think it's a bad choice at all. I believe it's one of the Top 5 bows being offered on the market today. The reason I asked that, was I wondered if she was the one that did the research or if you had any input. When I met my wife sixteen years ago, I told her I had a little over $500.00 saved up for a 7mm Mag Remington. A week later she gave it to me as an early Christmas present. I was at Bass Pro in Cincinnati, several weeks ago and a fellow was purchasing the Black Ice at the time ... I thought it was a Sweet Lookin', Beautiful Bow. Make sure you by a practice bag and shoot at least 25 shots a day to keep yourself on top of your game. Take a picture of it, if you can, and let us see it,OK?
