My string loop continues to fray. I've been told that it's my release that has sharp edges. But when I look at my release I don't see where that's possible? Smooth on all sides. I've used two seperate releases and have gone through two seperate loops with the same problem. I had to go to the metal "Ultra Nok XL" and even that loop is getting wear and tear... the metal is wearing down on the contact points. What could this be from?

The two ultra nocks I've removed had wear also where the caliper grabs.. I would guess that the speed that jaws open on the release is slower to than the accelerating string returning to the normal position, so it actually rubs/roll out of the jaws wearing the string/metal..

YEP,YOUR RELEASE IS SET TOO TIGHT . THERE IS NORMALLY AN ADJUSTMENT SCREW ON MOST RELEASE AIDS . I SET MINE HAIRY, ADJUST IT A LITTLE AT A TIME BY PUTTING IT ON THE STRING AND PULL IT BACK ABOUT AN INCH, KEEP ADJUSTING IT TIL IT GOES OFF BY ITSELF . THEN ADJUST IT BACK 3/4 TO 1 TURN .

I would also pay close attention in the type of loop material that you are useing. Don't buy this crap from Wal-mart, Dicks, Bass Pro ect. Most of it is junk and will wear and even break faster than a good quality material that you may get at a pro shop.
