Im wanting to give bow hunting a try. I bought a Bear Buckmasters Pro kit less than half off from Walmart for $100. I replaced the sight with a Truglo 3 pin ($5 on sale at Walmart) (planning on replacing with a keller) and added some limbsavers between the limbs and on the front ($15, with a Tru fire X caliper release, again all on sale at Walmart). It came with whiskers for the string and a whisker biscuit rest so I left them as they were. My question is if this is a decent bow/setup or not (retails for about $250 for the bow) and should I spend the money to do anything else to it? It shoots okay for $120, but I think that I can get a little better with more practice alone. Any suggestions on fine tuning/equipment changes/add-ons?

Equipment matters to a point, but if you really want to shoot any bow better, find a good archery shop.
I've been shooting a few years, but only dealt with the one shop I knew about, but I didn't really like the personalities there. When I found another shop, what a difference.. I had them replace a string & cable set, so it wasn't a big purchase, but the head bow tech spent some time with me on the shooting lanes & advised me ways to improve my form and it was night & day difference in my accuracy.. And no pressure to buy, another big consideration in my book... How can you trust someones advise & recommendations, if they're just trying to drum up a sale.. Search out a shop that will take care of you like that, and you'll become a better archer, along with lots of practice.. Good Luck.

I agree, I can still shoot well with the worst bow if you do several things. 1. Tune it ( paper tune) 2. match the arrows to the set up 3. understand form and function and 4. practice, Practice, PRACTICE!!
If everything is uniform from shot to shot you will do well. Nothing can replace an expert assisting you with a set up but there is a ton of info out there on set up that is available for the do it your selfer. Some one to watch your form and provide suggestions is invaluable. Did I mention practice?

I see what you mean about the pro shop staff. Unfortunately there is only one in my area. The guy who owns the shop is an asshole. He seemed like he was very arrogant and was reluctant to help me out since I didnt buy my bow from them. I have been looking around for another shop, even if I have to drive 50 miles, just to avoid patronizing the same shop as I did before.
