I am looking to get a new bow but can't decide!! I like the new hoyts, I hear good things about the new mathews, Salesman @ gander mountain says Can't go wrong with the diamond "Black Ice". I need all the help I can Get. It has been about 15 years since I purchased a new bow. Back then a fully loaded bow cost me around $300 now it looks like $1,000 plus!!!!!

Welcome to the forum!!! I think your best bet is to pick the bow companies that you are interested in and go and shoot their bows.. Every bow feels different and just because one person likes a certain bow that doesn't mean you will feel comfortable shooting the same bow.. Don't just go and buy a bow because of all the hype about one certain bow.. Trust me you might regret it.. Your going to be spending a good amount of money so do your homework.. Here is a link to start you off in the right direction. Do some comparisons.. Like , do you want speed, smoothness, certain ATA. etc..This link will show it all..It will also help you decide on your gear you will be putting on the bow you buy.. Just link on the link below.. When you get in just clink on products or technical help and you will see all you need..Good luck and welcome again... www.huntersfriend.com/index.htm

I agree every person is different and one bow is not right for every person. Pick the one that feels best to you. I dont think you could go wrong with any of the bows you are looking at.

Like the others have said before me if you have the opportunity to go and shoot the bows you are interested in then do that!! You can't go with here-say from others or you might be sorry when you buy the wrong bow for you!! All the companies you have mentioned are good ones but you need to try them out for yourself before you buy!!!

I agree with Keith on this topic. Every manufacturer you listed makes a good bow. With all of the mods available you can make just about any bow fit you. I have a cheap Bear Walmart special and its just as deadly out to 40 yds as any of the big names. I think its up to you how much you want to spend. If you can get to a place to shoot all of them, them by all means do. In some places this just isnt a reality. Hunterfriend is a great site to compare different manufacturers. Just my $.02 worth.
