What do you guys prefer? I personally like using carbons. I cant say enough good things about them.. I use the CX MAXIMA 350.. The durability, straightness and the accuracy of this arrow is incredible.. And the speed you can get using different combinations is always a plus.. I don't think I will ever go back to aluminums since I changed three years ago!!! ;D

I'm still shooting the XX78's. No comment on the carbons because I'm an old dog and gotta say, I've never shot one. My aluminums are not broke so never desired to fix them. I shoot on my own range and hunt and sometimes shoot at a buddies house. I have never competed in my life and have no desire to except with buddies doing bragging rights.
I buy blanks and build all my own and never made the switch.

I have been using carbons for about 5 years now, both Gold Tips and Bemans! I do like them for there strength and durability! I still use XX75's for my Jennings Speedmaster though! I have 4 bows that see time in the woods and I shoot them year round! I am not a speed freak! I hunt groundhogs in the summer and the carbons just held up so much better than the aluminums!! I have shot deer every year since using the carbons. The only thing I am seeing is my penetration with the carbons is not as good as my aluminums! Don't get me wrong I kill deer with them but it seems like the aluminums blow through the deer alot easier! JMO

Whitetail, I guess I should rephrase that. I usually replenish my arrow stock with a new dozen blanks when I'm down to 9 to 11 arrows. If I were to buy Carbs, I would have to try and use up all my others and I've just never done that. I just prefer to add another dozen 2315's and just never saw the need to make the switch. I currently have about 15 arrows left and will probably buy another dozen blanks vice switching.

I totally agree with what hocktl is saying,I've taken more game with my 2413's than any other arrow.I like using them when building my own,but I have shot gold tips for 2 years because I was able to get a great deal on ready made feather fletched carbon arrows. They have worked fine for me too ,but no better than aluminum. Where I live and hunt an archery tag allows hunting from Sept 15 to Jan 15 ,2 deer & 2 turkey plus small game.I can buy an unlimited amount of doe tags also for $7 & I get 3 free landowner tags so I use archery tackle to fill my freezer. Hunting fall turkey and that many deer will cause me to use several arrows so I look for good products at a good price. I will go back to 2413's in a second if I get a good deal on them this summer.

I'm thinking 'bout going back. A buddy of mine who is a speed freak talked me into switching from aluminum to carbons last year. We shoot Three D and I haven't seen an arrow shot since I've switched... I'm still contemplating went from alum to carbon in late 90's never looked back

I shoot carbons now. I started shooting them 2 years ago. I cant say I notice a difference. I will keep shooting them for a while though. I won 2 dozen in 05 in a local big buck contest.

I shoot Gold Tip XT Hunters with 2" Blazers. These are what I started shooting with and theyve worked just fine so no need to change. I agree that aluminums do hit a little bit harder, but for the deal I got on the carbons, cant beat em.

I guess I should say if I were to buy and arrow straighener I probably wouldn; thave to buy any arrows for the rest of my life considering the pile of slightly bent ones I have. LOL.
