So I love dove (prefer dark meat over white anyday)but I must hunt public land and I don't have a dog. I found an area that has several fields with low growth browse and as I walk in the open they see me and take off before I could even get within shotfun range.
This is before the season even opens and I'm scouting right now but how can I set up around the field and not be obvious to the bires that fly in or are already in the field? The reason I want to hunt the fields is because it won't be too hard to find them when I knock them down.
Oh and this area is around a river and doesn't have any ponds to hunt.
Thanks for any and all good suggestions. Did I mention I love dove.

get the dove bucket out and sit in the vegitation in the field. if you look around im sure you can find a spot you can hide your self in. good luck.
