Just wanted to introduce you all to Abby. She is 7 months old and is a joy to work with . I have no bird dog training at all and so far she has made it very easy on me. Three weeks ago we competed in a NAVHDA natural abilities test. Abby and her sister Lily were the youngest dogs there. It was a VERY hot humid and miserable day but we were able to walk away with our heads held high and a Prize III 95 point score. She reall made mom proud when she was the only dog to come up with a pheasant on the tracking phases of the test. It was HER pheasant, but non the less it was a pheasant. I felt great walking by the GSP owners with my little girl and her pheasant!! ANyways here is a few pictures of Abby. She doesnt like her picture taken so she looks kinda bummed. Oh, I will buy a beer to the first person to guess the breed!!

Nice looking pup! Congratulations Bowlady and Abby! I'll take a shot and say she is a Brittney Spaniel.

Cute pup!
She looks a lot like my field bred Springer...liver/white, freckles, longer tail. No feathers tho...maybe cause she's so young? Springer is still my guess.

Good guess but not a springer either.
Not a spaniel at all.

Well, it proves you can learn something new on this site just about every day. I've been hunting with all kinds of bird dogs for the last 40 years & I've never heard of that breed before. I would've guessed a Britt because most of the Britt's you see with short tails are that way because their tails were cropped as puppies. She's a real pretty pup! ;D

I have a friend that had a Munsterlander but only saw the dog once or twice....thought it had courser hair, more like some of the wirehaired breeds...guess I wasn't paying attention. Thanks for the link. I always enjoy reading up on breeds that I haven't worked with before. Keep us posted on your pup's progress...It'll be fun to watch her grow up. (And I won't even have to clean up any accidents in the house.)

I just joined the board and noted the pictures of your pup and wanted to tell you that I think your little Abby looks like a real sweetheart. Keep up the good work with her as it sounds like she is a real jem to work with.

Hey Rackman, got any pics of those beagles,I had one beagle/blutic mix, which means he had the spots on chest and thats what folks call em up this way and fine rabbit hounds for sure. They are the craze up here.Everyone has a rabbit hound.
