That's great! Good looking hounds! Now do you trial 'em SPO or Large Pack on hare at all?

That's great! I'm used to SPO ... we run a lot of cotton tail up here and rarely go large pack on hare. Our dogs run a tight line and aren't what you would consider "lining out" hounds.

I agree, I like a good moving hound as long as it runs a true line and stays close to the checks. I have been in beagling for thirty years and still love it as much as I did when I started. It is good to see some younger folks into the hounds. Not that I'm old, just turned the big 50. haha But I still get out there and hunt and run the dogs whenever I can. I run mainly spo or sp trials. I have a Field Champ now and he is a super dog. He has a super nose and a brain to match. Those are the two main elements to a good dog. Putting speed in a hound is the easiest to do when breeding, but a good nose and a brain beats all. My dogs nose has produced more lost rabbits because he stayed close to he check work. But other than that, it is so much fun to get out and hunt with dogs. Oh, by the way, Gobfather is my son and he was raised with these hounds. He has seen first hand. Hope you have great success this year hunting those bunnies. Keep me in touch and let me know how you do this year. Who knows, maybe we can do a hunt together sometime.

great looking beagles, never ran any of mine in field trials but have got 4 now that we run rabbits with all the time, they come from the yellow creek and blue cap strains and are very good hounds, all pack and run together real well.
