The cooler than normal nights and less than blazing hot day time temps for September this year. Have made the deer a little more active at mid day. Ive been or was seeing deer movement between 11 am and 1 for several days. Ive had a couple bucks making rubs late morning around the homestead.I glassed one pretty decent 9 pointer. As he shreaded a sapling 60 yards from the one foodplot. Hopefully there will be more rut activity in daylight this year? Its shaping up that way anyhow. Woods are loaded with acorns and the deer are hitting them hard. Next Wednesday starts another season. and i'm very much looking forward to it. good luck to all you bowhunters out there. Hope to see and hear of some good adventures.

Keep track of those movements this year, I'm covered up with work and not going to spend days on end in the woods like normal. Just going to grab my bow and go any chance I get. I have many good sized bucks to hunt and a couple of monsters, seen their pics although I didn't take them, lazy these days. Acorns are thick here too and that is what they will fatten up on for the next month I bet. Mosquito's are as big as small ducks so it has been painful to hunt so far. We had a cool spell and now a heat wave so I'm going to work long hours until it cools back down again. Bid and got a big job last week, have my truck loaded with tools for the work to be done with my bow and backpack on top as it is right in the middle of some good hunting and I can hunt the place. There is about 1500 acres but I'm looking at a choice 160 to spend some time on, been wanting to go there for 30 years. Have a Grandson that is wanting to hunt a lot so we will be after them soon as we can and hope to be draggin a couple tough eating bucks out of the woods.
