Had Turkey come out into the field mid morning, good sized flock and they were just feeding like they were starved. Later I was in my garage gathering tools for my next job and I hear a gobble. Walked around the house and there are 4 Toms strutting with 16 hens at my mail box. The sky turns dark and looks like rain is on the way so they all bunch up in the road and start gobbling non stop for awhile. Starts raining and they head up my driveway stopping to fight often, then gobble some more.
I head to the back door to sneak in for the camera and looks like I'm going to get some good pics when a truck comes tearing down the road and flushes them into the air. They fly South back across the road to the safety of the creek and big timber. Late afternoon here they come again, but all was quiet, they are feeding heavily again. The two gobblers that I got pics of couple days ago cross the road and head for my house, passing about 200 yards West of me. I thought about the camera but the sky is very dark, wind is blowing hard and I can hear thunder. Wanted the 16 hens to come over and get a good flock shot but here comes another truck and same old story once again. Weather channel says there is possibly a tornado not too far West of me so I stay in the house and the gobblers ran like crazy for my ditch, then it rained hard, hens fly South. Just before dark all the hens come out again, no gobblers with them at all and you guessed it, here comes a truck, hens fly South and probably went to roost on the bluff South of my mailbox. Bet the first calm day we have the woods will be ringing with them scattered so much.

Steve, its to darn bad they had to get run off like that. Hopefully they will come back again and you will be able to get some nice pics. Haven't seen a turkey around here for sometime now.

The weather gets em scramblin. Sounds like it was pretty cool to watch them. And of course hear them. Haven't seen or heard any since last Saturday. I will be up early to see if any are close by? But you definitely have them close by. Lol!!
