I opened the door a little after first light. The gobblers were a little slow to start. Then when they got gobbling. The whole valley lit up. They stayed on the roost for around an hour. Shortly after they flew down they were here. But the group of 5 was short one. The multi bearded long hooked dude was mia. Anyway the other four were acting nervous. Kept perking up like they heard something. Eventually after I took several pics they walked off to the west. So I was sitting here watching TV. When I heard several gobbles! They sounded close? I looked out around the house and up through the woods. Nothing?? Anywhere?? Then I heard them again! I looked up above the house to the east, there they were. 7 longbeards in a pine. They all jumped out of the tree and walked up on the ridge about 100 yds away. They followed the ridge toward where the other 4 went. After they disappeared within minutes one hell of a fight erupted. I could hear them plain as day, but couldn't see them. Flogging sounded like gunshots. And they must of gobbled 20 or more times in a row. It lasted for several minutes. Don't know which group won. That group of 7 looked like all two yr olds. Glassed them none had over inch spurs. But had some nice beards.I will post pics of the regulars before the fight.

Mr bushy tail got some pretty big rocks to stand his ground. Lol! They were leaving and watching up the hill. It was a pretty vocal morning that's for sure.

It helps with cabin fever. But hear we are getting hit by yet another snowstorm. Its just starting to melt off too. Never hated snow so much. At least if it wasn't deep you can get outside and do stuff. Cold temps and deep snow. Puts a halt to things.
