I sure think I've seen it with deer many times and my songbirds will gang up in my yard eating seed. When the weather is fair the birds seem to come in at certain times with their same kind, Cardinals the first, Jays next, Juncos then T Titmouse and others. When there is a big snow coming they will all show up together early and fight for the food until it is all gone. This morning was this way , hundreds of birds at daybreak and every color you could imagine, tonight a bad snow storm has hit. Over the years of caring for cattle it seems they too will eat a lot more before a big snow storm if the hay is available then stand in a circle once the storm hits and wait for it to end before feeding again. I have paid close attention to how my cattle are acting and used this info while deer hunting as they seem to react to weather and storms in much the same way.

Absolutely!! I know pretty quickly When something is coming. From squirrels, birds, and deer. Songbirds let you know mostly.

Get ready for it Larry. Was 65 here yesterday, woke up to 3 inches of snow this morning,march16, high winds. Going down to 15 tonight they say. This winter just keeps hanging on doesn't it. There should not be more than a half dozen bugs this summer if there is any truth in what I've heard about them and mild winters. We will see, lol.

I just listen to my bones anymore. They tell me pretty accurately when things will be changing for the worst. But its been pretty nice here all week. Been sawing and burning down by the creek everyday. Actually I hope it starts raining soon, so that I can get a break from running the saw. Midwest does look like more winter coming. Grrrr , what a long winter for lots of folks this year.
