Cow Moose in Denali, saw many of them near the end of the day. Saw this guy coming toward the road I was on so we waited him out for some close up shots, He's close in this one but the under brush is much thicker than I thought, In my past posts I've said how easy the Grizzly could hide, well so can a Bull Moose. Two more steps from the underbrush put him in plain sight, in the road with me. He never even looked our way and then crossed the road, After crossing the road the Bull walked into some beautiful scenery and straight on North out of sight.

Wow Steve! Some very nice moose pics here, and the backdrops are pretty darn nice also. That bull looks enormous. I know that Alaska moose are far bigger than their southern brothers. Any idea how big this guy was? Now that would be quite the pack to get him out. Keep those pics coming. They are wonderfull, and I know we all enjoy seeing them very much. Well done.

Terry, I honestly do not have an idea how large this Bull was, guessing 60 some inches but have no experience. I just know he was very impressive out of the dozen bulls I saw. Saw one larger but was against dark trees later and I did not have enough light for the shot to turn out. Have a pic of a 73 inch that was mounted life size which looked much larger than this bull did. Moose season was open while we were there and I did see several Moose hunters out hunting, many folks up there rely on them for their winter supply of meat. I felt like I learned where to find them, some places the Moose are just not seen while a short distance away they would be numerous. Seemed like where there were no Moose we found Bear and above them still we found Stone Sheep which I will have pics of when time allows. I know my pics don't really do the area justice but the Bull crossing the red colored meadow alone going North in late evening and me knowing there were 3 grizzlies a mile ahead of him had a very lonely feeling to it at the time. For whatever reason he was leaving an area that was full of Moose and seemed to just want to get away from it all.
