These are from my roost. These two still show once in awhile.

Only one of those four got shot that I know of. The other 3 were here or nearby all season. Here's two of them opening week. Number 3 is standing out back.

At first having several frustrating days hunting. To come home and see this, was nerve racking. But eventually I got to the point where it was just fine. Plus my girlfriend made some good points. You shoot them the others won't come by here anymore. I have one friend who actually got a little bent over it. We all had a good season hunting elsewhere. His season didn't go as well. He wanted to bring his bow up and shoot one. Told him negative. The guys up at the camp have been hunting hard all season how is that fair? And I also pointed out. Everybody else I hunt with, had no problems coming here and seeing them without shooting them. He's a good dude. And has since accepted where I stand on it. Turkey huntin is about the challenge. Its chasing them playing the game. Its suppose to be easy hunts mixed with many frustrating ones. That's what keeps me coming back every season. This would be a barnyard shoot. Open the doors boys and take your pick. That sounds challenging. Lol! Anyway I love seeing the animals I hunt doing their normal activity. Breeding, and the assorted hen calling and the gobbling. The pecking order. The bad fights. I've learned certain calls that hens do in different situations. Things in nearly 3 decades of huntin I didn't see the significants. I hope you enjoy these pics. Larry has seen a boatload since February. Lol!! If I can figure out how to post the videos. I will post some cool footage.
