Took this pic last weekend, it was taken from my neighbors land, high on a bluff. Between the trees there is a house in the opening, this is where I live. The pasture land is part of my place, the rest is hidden by trees. Also posted this to see if it would work , been having problems posting pics, keeps saying they have been deleted, not true, don't know what is happening.

In the background of this pic you can see another Timber behind my house, this is also my land and have a ladder stand at the edge, it is one I use when low on time and it not cold. This location is the coldest place in MO I think when the temps dive or the wind blows. The deer come out at the edge though and wait for darkness than make a run downhill to my bean field which is in front of my house.

Those are some great fall colors for sure. Great pics Grizz. You captured the essence of fall very well. Just wish that those colors and fall would last alot longer. Love the pics, keep them coming. Really enjoy seeing your part of the world.

Here is another from my neighbors land, same day, 150 yards from where the first pic was taken. I took this photo from the Eastern part of the ranch I have mentioned in past posts, it lies between my house and my brothers place. In the upper right portion of this pic, the timber area is my bros place, then going across the top of the photo is basically all my families land, right in the middle is the area I often refer to as the East farm. You can't see it all for the trees but might give you an idea of the area I live and hunt in. Notice the creek in this photo being completely dry, I've never seen this and lived here all my life. This is the same creek that runs past the front of my house and has flooded us out for 3 straight years but not in 2012. I should be using this to my advantage for bowhunting as normally it can't be crossed without getting very wet.

Great pic also Steve. I can see why you really love your neighborhood. What a nice place to hunt and enjoy. I can see where chasing bucks here would be a whole lot of fun. Oh! Those bovines look pretty tempting also.

Yes Terry those bovines are pretty dang good and I sometimes have the best of two worlds.I'm sure you remember Keith, the guy that was with us when we met for lunch in Medora, well he still works for the ranch and they give him all the beef he wants. They feed out 5 to 7 each year and butcher them for family use. I benefit by helping on vaccination days when we run the cattle through the chute, usually about 2 days of work twice a year than Keith gives us about all the beef we can eat. Keith provides the steaks, Penny cooks them and we eat together. He just got a fresh beef packed into the freezer last week and we have had steak twice already, had some KC strips that were fantastic. The worst part of the whole deal is Penny says I don't need to deer hunt as much, we don't need the venison to eat so I'm now hunting for big deer to decorate the house with.
In that last picture, off to the right side ( not in the pic at all) is a corn field, it is 110 acres in size borders my bros place than on the other side of my bros is a 550 acre lake. This is the recipe for a monster buck and I know of three very big ones so I'm going to be moving in on them soon, I have the green light to hunt everything in these pictures.

Yes, I do remember Keith. I'd say those beefs work out pretty darned good for everyone. Now Steve, don't let Penny talk ya out of chasing a big buck. One of those big corn fed bucks are a pretty tasty compliment to a beef, besides being a whole lot of fun to hunt. Pretty nice pics in this set. Your country looks wonderful in the fall.
