308 Win Krieger MTU #10 5R Barrel 1:10 Twist SureFire Break McMillian A5 Jewel Trigger 2.25lbs 20MOA integrated Surgeon 591 Action Weight w/scope 17.7 lbs Recoil 3.1 lbs NightForce 5.5-22x56 I am intending on running Berger 155.5 Fulbore and 175 Berger Tactical Match. The 175's have a G1 BC .515, G7 is .264 The 155.5's G1 is .464, G7 .237 and were loaded by Brian Litz The recoil is an estimation based off of another rifle identical to this one. Its estimated at 3.1 lbs The build was finished a couple of days before I had another shoulder surgery so the cherry on her is still intact. I got the word from the doctor yesterday that I should be able to shoot by xmas.

You sure have been busy. What a great looking rifle Brian. Are you planning on shooting competition with it? What a bummer that you have to wait so long to pull the trigger. Will be fun to see the real world results when you get to take it to the range. I'll bet its awesome. Now thats something I'd love to spend a day at the range, or any day, shooting.

When I set down with Surgeon, one of the most important requirements was the weight. Since I had a significant problem with my shoulder I wanted to reduce the recoil as much as I could. One of the ways we did this was with the weight. We could have made it heavier, but with ideal situation, I may be able at some point to be able to walk/carry with the rifle. That being said, we estimated the weight at 15 lbs. Our goal was 18 lbs fully equipped. As you can see above, we did not miss it by much. At 18 lbs one would scoff at caring this gun any distance. But, I came across a shooting mat that also doubled as a case. It has two straps that allow the bag to be carried as a back pack, thus distributing the wait evenly. Using this rig it is not as bad as one would think.
I'll tell you what though, after caring this gun for a bit and then picking up a 7 or 8 lb gun, it feels so odd.

I finally sold my heavy weight Savage. An extremey accurate rifle, but packing it around lessened the fun of shooting it for me.

Thanks a lot. The last year and a half has not been fun. I still am fighting through it but it is better now than it was 5 months ago. We have a cold front (strong) coming through tonight/tomorrow, so today has been really rough. Good news though, I am at least feeling like getting out and looking for a job. I am so glad to be back on. I really missed all of you guy and gals. I will tell you though, even though I have been gone you all were not far from my mind or prayers. How about another bass tourney Jason, just kiddin, LOL. Jason you won't believe the offer I had to pass on last spring. I was offered a trip by one of my buddys to come up in your area and fish for smallies. Regretfully I had to pass. They said they had a blast and caught a lot of good fish.

KT, I really was not thinking about competeing until you mentioned it. But, the more I think about it the more I like the idea. I do not know what is available in my area. I do know there is some national matches held here in Oklahoma once a year but as for local matches I do not know. I know the rifle is very capable of 1000 yard matches.
