Well, on opening morning(oct. 2) i had 3 deer come in at about 7:50 am. two 80ish lb. does, and a three pointer. he came in to about 20 yds. as he went behind a big maple, i drew my bow,and turned, but my stupid saftey harness strap wasnt quite long enough so i couldnt really lean around far enough. then he looks at me and stomps his foot. it looked like he moved his leg back, giving me an opening to his heart, and i shot. i got like 4" of penetration. Brisket shot. my dad sho at the same deer about an hr. later, and other than a limp, it seemed fine. but he missed. havent seen any deer since.

I'm sorry to hear that. It's a gut wrencher. But by the sounds of it you probably didn't hit any vitals. And deer can heal up pretty good with superficial wounds. Thats the bad part of hunting occasionally there is a bad shot,no matter how much we prepare at the range. I've had a couple myself. Just keep on hunting brother. Good luck the rest of your season.

I had the same thing happen last year on a nice 9 pointer. My hunting partner ended up killing it 2 weeks later. Bad shots happen occassionally. Just keep on hunting and good luck
