With all this rain the farmers are choppin at the bit to get the corn cut. And both trips to the farm turkey huntin. One flock after another,after another,flyin low and lookin for a runway of food. Some of the larger flocks were in gun range flyin over the corn. They're use to some wide open country by this time of the year. I talked to the one farmer,who was a good friend of my dads for over 30 years. He said those fields will be cut by duck/goose in a few weeks. He said next year if I want to ,he'll put some pit blinds in for us. The guy drives me nuts though. I have offered him my services for 15 or so years. He say's,"no way"! He said,"I pay these guys to work for me everyday." They can do the work. He said you hunt and play conservationist. ;D ;D One of those people that kills ya with kindness. Very few farmers like that anymore. I'm fortunate to know two and have the privledge to hunt their properties.
