Last week my buddy Dave called me up. Lets go shoot a muzzleloader he says. Well, any shooting is fine by me. Dave had picked up his brothers 50 Cal TC and plans on using it for ML season this year. The only thing was, none of us had ever shot one. Dave's brother had tutored him on how to load it, so I guess we knew all we knew when we got there. Dave dropped in two 50 gr. pellets of powder and stuffed down a 245 gr. Sabot. First, we thought we ought to shoot at something close first, like about 40 yards, just to see if we could even hit a target. Much to Dave's surprise, he was dead on. Thinking this was a fluke, he loaded up again and had the same results. Getting braver, we moved out to 75 yards. Dave's shot was dead center and one inch high. Sweet we thought. Now we moved out to 100 yards and let one fly. A little low and to the right. Not to bad for some old farm boys who never shot one before. After three shots we really had to work at suffing the fourth one down, so we ended our session. All in all, Dave did a great gun shooting this rifle. This TC had a very nice trigger pull and was very accurate, even for an old boy shooting open sights, which is what is required here. Anybody else been doing any shooting with their's?

Haven't shot mine since last Dec, just don't get around to it with all the other activities but I love shooting them when fianlly take the time. I can't see iron sights worth a dang anymore so would have a problem hunting in ND sounds like. Kt, the way you like to shoot I bet you would have a great time if you took up shooting a smokepole. Take a cleaning rod and some patches next time, swab it out after 4 or 5 shots, check to see if you can blow air through the nipple after cleaning so there are no misfires and stay out there longer enjoying the shooting.

TERRY, IF YOU SHOT IT ONE TIME YOU WOULD GET HOOKED FAST. LIKE GRIZZ SAID,, TAKE A CLEANIN KIT AND RUN A FEW PATCHES DOWN THE BARREL. NOTHING LIKE THE SMELL OF BLACK POWDER IN THE MORNING TO GET THE BLOOD PUMPIN..
