Well, this past weekend marked the NY Bass Season Opener. The fishing was very rough on opening day. The wind was making the water very choppy and made for very fast drifts. We battled 3 ft swells and whitecapped water with a dose of rain sporadically throughout the day as well. I managed to haul in my limit of 5 and my father and our friend that went with us managed to hook about the same as well. Most were quality fish coming in on average at 3 lbs or better. All three days I was fortunate enough to land at least one 4 lber so no complaints here. After speaking with many anglers over the course of the weekend, I found that they, too, were finding it difficult to hook the bass. All in all it was a great weekend and time spent on the water with family and friends. We kept our catch only to stock the freezer for the coming months ahead. But from here on out, I'm all catch and release for the remainder of the summer. Here's some pics I thought I'd share from out ventures on Lake Ontario for the 2010 NYS Bass Season Opener: Hope you guys and gals are out there enjoying it as much as I have!!! -GF
