Well Bell is doing great. Belle has completed her obedience training. She is solid on sitting, stay, come. She has completed her training on the whistle. She knows both commands. One blow of the whistle means for her to sit and several short blows of the whistle means to come to me.
We had her out in the field to give her a final test on her obedience and the whistle. We put her on the opposite side of the wheat field and had her stay. I continued to walk to the other end, approx. 200 yards and she never moved off of stay. I then brought her back with the whistle. During her return I would hold her up with one blow of the whistle, which means to stop and sit. Belle did excellent. I was so proud of her. We have also had her around several dogs and in different surroundings while giving her the tests. She passed all the test that I gave her. We also set her out about 2o yards from us on a sit command and tossed a bumper over her head. What I was looking for is if she broke and went for the bumper without the command to go after the bumper. She passed this test with flying colors. Once the bumper landed I gave her the command, with the whistle, to return to me and heel up. Again, she passed. She is excellent when it comes to honoring other dogs. She will only retrieve an object if the command has been given.
Bell has moved on to a new lesson starting yesterday. We have began to work on holding with her. We spent two sessions yesterday on working her with force hold. She did okay on this. I figure about 2 or 3 weeks and she will have it down.
All in all, I am very pleased with her progress.
Your Buddy,
Brian
