First off I would like to say, that to understand this thread "A New Mission!!!" One needs to follow the above link and read over the "Banned" thread I posted earlier.
I am going to think it over and I believe I am going to make it my mission to show other members of our wonderful community (Hunting, Fishing, and the Outdoors) that we as a group have a voice. Please understand this does not just apply to this website. In fact, I want to draw more people to this site. I want people to see that there are people out there that believe in having a voice. I want to express this to hunters and sportsman alike everywhere.
I want to show to other sportsman that we need not go along to get along. That we need to stand up as a group and let our voice be heard. That we will not let the liberal groups in America dictate how we speak, think, and act as a responsible community of sportsman.
As you know, by the thread "Banned", that my voice, as well as others, were silenced. This censorship came on the heels in an attempt to have an educated discussion about certain issues such as Health Care Reform Bill, PETA, and President Obama. Like Jason (The Gob-Father) stated in the other post, I am very opinionated about many conservative and liberal issues. I do stand by my convictions. But I am very open to other beliefs. I do not feel that my beliefs or convictions are set in stone. I believe we should all be grounded in our beliefs and convictions. But, I also believe we need to be open to other ideas, but not at the expense of our core beliefs and values. I do not think that we need to sacrifice our convictions to satisfy a liberal/progressive agenda.
We can not let the few fight the battle for us as we sit by holding our tongues. We as sportsman need to become less worried about what others may think, that we may offend a particular group of people, or in this case be banned for belief in certain issues.
I am not saying go out and tick off the Pope to prove a point. But we should not be afraid of having a heart felt debate about what is important to us. We as sportsman are being systematically silenced for what we believe in. We are being systematically forced to assimilate to a certain set of beliefs. This is unacceptable. We as sportsman and Americans can not let this happen. I am not saying that liberals do not deserve a voice nor should they assimilate to our conservative ideas. But I will be damned if I will allow the Liberal/Progressive movement to impose a set of values or beliefs on me or my way of life. I will vow to go to my grave protecting the very freedoms that your grandparents and mine fought and possibly died to protect. I refuse to let your child nor mine to grow up in a society that forces assimilation to a select system of beliefs.
In closing I would like to leave you with this. If we continue to voice our views or beliefs on chat forums like I did and get banned, it would be logical that several of us would begin to hold our tongues, or assimilate, so that we could enjoy the few benefits of that web based forum. Are these sites, that would possibly ban you for stating a belief or defending a set of values/ethics, worth the few benefits that you would sacrifice your core beliefs? Do we desire acceptance that much, that we would sacrifice who we are? Do you really feel that if a group requires a go along to get along mentality, that the group really warrants belonging to. When do we "damn the consequences" and voice what it is we really feel is in our hearts?
