URL=http://img227.imageshack.us/i/4269.jpg/] [/URL] On March 9, Leslie Workman of Grangeville, arrowed this 200-pound tom mountain lion while archery hunting “somewhere” in the Grangeville area. Workman said the unofficial measurement of the animal’s skull was 14 3/4 inches, which would place it among the largest mountain lions ever taken with a bow. It’s possible it could make it into the Pope and Young Club for record-book game animals taken with bow and arrow. Idaho’s all-time largest cat ever taken had a skull length of 15 inches. The Idaho Department of Fish and Game Web site did not specify how the record animal was taken. The world record mountain lion for archery equipment was 16 1/16 inches, and was taken by Scott Moore in Park County, Wyo. in 1993.
