I came up on the pond.And there was some greenheads as usual. Before i walked further and flushed them i noticed one didn't look like the other's. So i dropped down and snuck up to a blowdown and snapped off some pics. still think they are by far the most beautiful waterfowl. I think he was trying to beat traffic. I think some nesting boxes would be a good project.

THEM WOODIES ARE ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL DUCK.. I HAD A PAIR MOUNTED AND IN THE PROSS OF MOVING THEY GOT LOST..

Longspur, you're right, they are the most beautiful duck/bird out there at least in my area. We have a large pond in some timber that Woodies stay on, I really enjoy watching and listening to them. They are always on the move.

I actually get more excited when I hear a wood duck callin than greenheads. And they are so much to hunt in standing timber.As I stated before the one farm we hunt is probably the best place I've ever hunted them.Last season was not so great. But i'm sure it was just a fluke.
