Today was a strange day for birds passing past my house. The snow is leaving fast which is flooding my flat ground and attracting waterfowl and about every other critter. About 8 Am 4 Swans came right past the front door, only 15 feet high and went down in the bean field. They were against the snow and too far for a picture which I wanted badly. I've only seen 2 others in my area in my life. A few flocks of snow geese went over but never slowed down. There were other shore birds flying around the house, I have no clue what they were, don't see them much here. The swans sure were a big, graceful bird, wish they would stay around.

I watched some huntin programs, they were hunting swans. Looked like they were hitting a jumbo jet. Shook the ground when they dropped. They are huge!

Yes, those swans are sure nice to see. We have a lot of them stop off in this country, especially during the fall migration. We do have a fall hunting season on them. They are a big bird for sure. We also started getting egrets showing up in the spring for some reason. Didn't know things were that desperate down in the Florida area that they needed to come to this harsh country.
