To All Members of Racks & Spurs,
I am not very good at writing this kind of letter so I hope that I convey exactly what it is I am trying to say to the fine members here.
I wanted to take some time and sit down and write a letter to all the wonderful members here at R & S. Recently I was admitted into the hospital. As all of you know, I was in the hospital as a result of a shoulder surgery and the pain was out of control.
I have never been a very emotional kind of person. But when I got a call from a loved member telling me about how all the members had rallied and started to pray on my behalf, I was brought to tears. I have never know or had the privilege to be associated with a finer group of people in my life. I was truly moved by all the responses and prayers that were made.
One thing that really caught me off guard, which I doubt I will ever forget, was when a member was told about my misfortune by another member in a brief passing at a local store. This member had not had a chance to get onto R & S or to see the e-Mail that I had sent him. A close friend of his, and member here at our club, remembered to tell him the news when he had seen the member. To this person, I say thank you. I have to say that I have never experienced this kind of generosity from people I have never met face to face. The character and pure kindness of the members that we have here at Racks & Spurs is second to none.
I am honored to call all of our family, here at Racks and Spurs, true friends and I will never forget what you have done for me. I know it may seem as a little thing and all of us would do the same thing for any other member who was in need of help. But, it is a very rare thing to see the kind of friendship/family that we have here in our club. I would bet the farm, that we could not find another on line club with members that had the selflessness, character, soul, respect, love, and just pure genuine kindness that the great folks here have. I truly believe that the people here would give the shirt right off their back, if they new another friend/member was in need of it. This kind of selflessness is slowly dieing with people that we see on a regular basis let alone for an on line club, where the majority of its members have never met face to face. This is practically unheard of for an online community.
So, I say thank you to the greatest people I have unfortunately never had the honor to meet face to face. You all will always be in my prayers.
Sincerely,
Brian Spillman
