optimalchargeweight.embarqspace.com/optimalchargeweight.embarqspace.com/#/ocw-vs-ladder/4529811360For you handloaders. This looks like an interesting method to try out if you already have not done so. Myself, I haven't tried it yet, but plan on doing so. Before the last blizzard I was able to get out and test some loads for the 1885 using the OCW type method of load development. I must say, it is a fun method to use, more so than the Ladder method. I was encouraged by the results of the test, though a lot more testing will be in order to confirm my results, or I could just call it good. Nah, it's way more fun to go out and do some more shooting. My next test for this load will be to take load #4 with the powder charge used in that test, and vary the seating depth to see what performs best at longer ranges. I will test these rounds at 200 yards.

Very impressive Terry. I must admit I am ignorant when it comes to hand loading and very ignorant on the OCW method.

Hey Brian, I'm pretty confident that once you really get into the handloading aspect you will be just fine. Sure hope your shoulder gets healed up fast so that you can get back into the shooting of that new rifle of yours. I have some more interesting load tests I'll post soon.
