Was just wondering, what brand of ammo you prefer for your favorite rifle. Or in all your rifles. I personally prefer the hornady sst 165gr out of my /06. On a couple of the hits I almost think at times it's a bit much for whitetails. Had some devastating results. And really messed up some coyotes along the way. ;D

For most of my big game hunting I load up Sierra Prohunters for those rifles. For varmints and such, I load up Hornady V-Max's for the 6MM and the .223. Lots of very good ammo on the market anymore, though alot of it is sure getting pricey.

Nosler Accubond 150gr for my .308 and Hornaydy SP 100 gr. for deer out of my 257 Weatherby. To stop the destruction of meat from the 30-06 (I assume is what you are using) drop the bullet weight down. 165 is a little heavy for medium sized game from a 30 - 06 or extend the range of your shot to give the bullet time to bleed off its speed and energy. The 30 - 06 is a very potent weapon.
