shot a Hoyt Katera or any of the newer Hoyt bows. I may have a chance to buy a new ,( never been shot 2008) Hoyt Katera, xt500 w/Z3 cams at 70 lbs. I'm planning to shoot the bow before I would buy to see how I like it but was just wondereing if anyone had any experience/knowledge about these bows.I'm way behind on Technology, still shooting an 18 year old bow--- man the prices have went UP since I bought my old Proline. Sure would like to get updated and maybe put some meat in the freezer this year too.

I always got good deals from some one I knew or a particular shop i fletched arrows for used bows. Not junkers bya any means but still used. Tomorrow even though it is close to archery season. I am going shopping for a new bow. The one i have is just fine. But i have decided to go and buy a new bow. I have a couple in mind.

I have not shot the Hoyt Katera but I did shoot the Alpha Max 32" and 35" and love it. It was was my 2nd choice. I bought the '09 Mathews DXT. But it was a hard choice. I just liked the single cam draw a little better.
Hoyt makes a great bow. If you like it I would not hesitate to pick it up. How much is he asking? Bare bow or accessories. I would check prices on AT forum for the going price.

Thanks guys for your input, I did not buy that paticuliar bow as it sold before I got the chance to shoot it. As much as thay are costing nowdays, I want to try a few different models, perhaps makes before I buy. I'm planning to head to a proshop to check them out closer as soon as I can find the time.

I would shoot as many different bows as you can. I shot about 12 different bows before I decided on the DXT with the AM 32 a close 2nd.

If you are able to....shoot some of the Bowtech line. Really fine bows. Dale

I truly appreciate everyones thoughts on any of the new bows available. I live in some of the greatest whitetail hunting country you can find but about 2 hours from the nearest proshop and that's why it's so hard to get around to try them all out. If it can't be found at Wal-Mart,I have to plan a whole day just to get there and back to a range or good sized archery shop.
