Well i finially decided to start writing down some stories guys lol......ik eh took long enough
I guess i can start out this past september during the wisconsin bow season. It all came together september 27, 2008. I woke up early in the morning and drove myself 45minutes to our property in Belgium wisconsin. I arrived in my tree stand which i just recently put up about 2 weeks prior, just at the beginning of the season, this would be my first time sitting in this spot. I was sitting over a food plot of clover, rye grass, and barassicas that i planted about 10 yards off the main corn field. I was right on the tree line surrounded by some real this stuff, nestled next to 2 main food sources. I had a trail camra in the area and found alot of deer coming through my food play and eating and walking out in the corn field, so i was pumped! As the woods woke that september morning i did not see much for the first 2 hours, but i was happy with that, just getting away form school and the drama life of highschool was great, and i love morning hunts. Around 8:00 i heard some noise from behind me, so i peeked around and noticed 2 bodies moving around 35-40 yards behind me. Now i practiced that far, but it was just tooo thick for a shot so i let the 2 nice looking doe's walk into the corn field not not bee seen again. Well as the morning progressed i left my tree stand around 11:00 I then went to the truckstop to talk to some of the locals and get a great big 1lb burger!!!! i love big burgers. I called my cousin and picked him up in west bend and we went out for a afternoon hunt. We arrived out in the woods around 1:30 and awaited for the woods to come alive. Now il be the first to admit i had my doubts, the temperature was pushing 80degrees and i did not want to walk almost 1mile to the tree stand that was going to be good for the wind that evening, so i sat in the same stand i did in the morning. I sat there for a good 2 hours just getting irritated in the tree, i was hott, sweaty, stinky, and getting tired from the morning, but i stuck it out. I just needed something to come along, even if it was a squirre!!! All of a sudden i look to my right and 30yards away is this medium size doe walking right to me. I FROZE, this was totally unexpected. She stayed on the trail and walked right under my tree stand, i mean between the ladder and the tree!! IT was INTENCE lol. so she starts walking out in my food plot and i pull my bow back, as she is walking away i "bleat" for her to stop and she bolts in the woods. i was sooo upset, but suddendly she stops and starts walking back out of the thicket and back in my food plot, my bow is still pulled back and she is brodside at 17 yards, i put the pin behind her shoulder and MY ARROW FALLS OFF nothing is going right, i catch my arrow and renock it on my bow string, and pull my bow back.....somehow i do this without her noticing too much and she did not seem to mind, but i was in a panic. I pull my bow back again and place the pin right behind her shoulder and WACK!!! the rage 2 blade drives right behind the shoulder and i just see blood splatter everywhere!! it was a great feeling, she ran into the corn field and i heard her pile up! I was pumped!!! I wait about 15minutes and climb down the tree, i go to where i shot her and blood was everywhere! I continued to track her through the corn field and blood was everwhere, it looked like a chainsaw hit something, i was pumped. About 40 yards into the corn field, it turn to soybean, and there she was piled up on the eadge of the field. I could not believe it! I just shot my very first deer with the bow, and with my brand new Bowtech Guardian...i could not be happier. So i gutted her out and dragged her to the truck, and i suprised my cousin when he came walking down from the woods with a dead deer lying in the truck bed. we were both excited. I managed to get my very first deer with the bow ( i have harvested 9 with the gun but could never get one with the bow) and it happened to be september 27, National hunting and fishing day, i could not believe it.
Here is the only picure i have of her, it was with my cell phone, she was not huge but i was proud of her.
You can see the huge 2.5 in hole that rage broadhead did to her, the top of her heart was split in half, i was deffinatly impressed!
well enjoy and i will be adding more stories in the next few days...
