With good form and a string stopper/tamer, you should not need a arm guard unless you are using a super small brace height bow.

When I wear my bulkier clothes. I wear a sock up my arm. But most of the time I dont wear anything on my arm.

My bow doesnt have a string stopper on it I am looking to sell it any way it is 9 years old and i want to buy a new one. Thanks for the advice.

Cannot have Good form when shooting a bow with a TOO long of a draw.
I use a arm guard to keep my coat sleeve out of the way when the weather gets real cold and need to wear my heavy duty hunting gear to stay on stand for any length of time.
