OK...I told you I would tell you the story on my 10s when I had time...So here it goes....I had taken a week off from work to hunt the first week of rifle season...It was the 22nd of Oct....I had already hunted a couple of days straight...This morning I figured I'd go get some breakfast and just go sit somewhere and watch a field...My husband, (cgvoliva), was working and was hungry too...He is a farmer, and was in a tractor so I grabbed him a bite and headed to the field...On my way there I saw one of our local hunting club members sitting along the road...I told cgvoliva about it when I got there and he told me that if they were running dogs I should go sit in this spot behind Abolt-270s, Huntergirls and Deerhunter95s house...I went over and sat...I could hear the dogs in the woods in front of me and they sounded like they were running in circles...Maybe 10 minutes later I looked to my right and there he was...ears back, tale down and running like the wind...I raised, put him in my sights and missed 5 times...lol...Before I really knew what was going on I was reloaded, in my truck hauling butt down the field road, on the phone explaining to my husband that the deer was heading the same direction as my truck was going...Before I knew it I was at the other end of the field with my 25.06 in hand searching the field to see where the deer went...I was still on the phone with cgoliva and he screams, "THERE HE IS, THERE HE IS!!!!!" I got my eyes on him at about 250 yards or better and begin firing...The 4th shot finally made it's mark!!! He dropped and I did too!!! I felt like my legs quit working on me...Before I even realized I was in my 2wd Tacoma trying to drive right down the center of the field...After the truck was axel deep in mud I got out and instead of getting my 4-wheeler out of the bed of the truck , I took off running across the field...I wasn't alone however?....Cgvoliva was about 10 feet ahead of me...Abolt-270 was right...You couldn't have beat him down with a bat...He beat me to the deer and, although he couldn't breath, he managed to tell me I had killed a "Daddy"...I can't explain how exciting this whole event was for the both of us...I hope you all enjoy the story of it!!! And by the way....My truck was so stuck that it took a tractor to pull it!!!lol....
