Anyone ever use any of these scents? I'm not promoting these scents or anything but the last year I bowhunted I used this product and let me tell you these are the best scents on the market. I got a small jar of scent gel called Wallhanger and used it on a certain six point I was after. I placed it out from my treestand on a limb about 4 feet off the ground. I was sitting in my treestand one morning and saw this buck coming up a hollow to my right with his nose to the ground. As soon as he got up above me, he stopped and came straight at me when he winded the scent! It was unbelievable! Unfortunately he saw me and took off. I was on the side of a hill and he was almost level with me when he saw me. Anyone interested in the scent go here:www.jamesvalleycompany.com
What made me think of this is I just got their magazine in the mail. Try it you'll be amazed.

Guys I will tell you this, I have tried many scents!!tested a few and have been impressed by some and laughed at others . Just right from the bottle, you should be able to know a good scent. I represent a scent company so I see alot behind doors that most people dont see. First off is the scent 100 percent pure. Gels are ok but whats natural is natural. To make a gel you have to add ingredients that are not from a deer, hog,so on so on.I prefer pure. The next thing is scent has to be used at the right time, the right place and in a good fashion.you can have the best deer scent in the world and if the deer are not rutting yes you may get a few curious deer but bringing in the big one?? A hog is like the best thing to try scents on they come in to heat all year and have many cycles. Does a gel work?? I think not does 100% percent sow in heat work yes. Why do i say this I have trapped for years and have tried like said gels, scents, attractents. The only thing i have found to work is 100 percent urine. I have trapped hogs in a trap with 100 percent urine and no corn.Hogs are a bit smarter than deer and thier noses are better. Cost is another thing What are you buying!! Tinks 69 is a great scent but it costs alot, it works and works great if the time is right.Scent by alot of people are watered down and not pure. What kind of water are they adding to thier scents?.. I will try to help anyone with any scent questions. But I believe gels are not that great. This is my opinion based on my studies. but I will be as honest as I can. I dont want to be screwed nust like you guys, Tim

I've used many scents and urines before and James Valley is THE best one I've ever used. Tim, this lure is not a pure animal secretion, it is a formula. All good trappers use a lure(which is someones formula) along with urine. Do you think bucks go around to every place a doe pee's to smell it? You need other smells along with the urine to draw in bucks and make them curious or make them think they are going to find a mate. The gel is just a nuetral base so the lure stays airbourne longer. I agree that there has to be the right situation for any lure to work. I believe that you have to use good urine and good lure, used at the right time for it all to work. I have seen deer react many times while using James Valley. Anyway, that's just my opinion.

Everyone! I wasnt dissing any scent company out there at all. I was talking about whats happened to me and what I went through. When I first started trapping I was catching hogs but few and not as often as I wanted. I wanted a sure thing. There isnt one. I went to the local bow shop and bought some sow in heat gel. I tried it ,used it and and had no results.I was upset and thought I was doing something wrong, but I wasnt. I went back and bought more I think the price was 12.95 a tube. I bought 4 tubes the second time . I tried and tried. It just didnt work. NOTE this was for hogs not deer. I later came across another brand of scent , I first said heck no its a waste of money. I got a few free bottles and tried it. It worked and worked good. I wont say what company that was but it was 100 % pure and alot more scent cheaper, then in wal mart or the bow shop. Guys I sometimes shoot my mouth off without reading deeper into things , I wasnt downing this scent or a new product I was telling my past experience. I dont want people like myself to get screwed!. I am not saying anyones scent is worse or better I am just stating my facts from experience, that i have found. I then started doing sales for the scent company that I was talking , I tried their scent it worked and was amazed at the price difference and the honesty from a small company. I started selling to alot of places like feed stores, bow shops and guns and ammo stores. I was disgusted when I went to a certain bow shop to sell the scent and told the the dealer cost and what the scent needs to sell for . He wanted to pay the dealer price and mark it up 80%. I said you cant do that he said all my scents are marked up 80% I wont carry it if I cant mark it that way. I have not ever been back to that store and have told everyone I know what happened. A good scent company like the one who you mentioned may be honest, great and work. I have never heard of them here in texas. But I will try new I am not against learning or change. I just see how much a bottle of hog in heat pee costs and how much it sells for.I know the gallon price thats paid and I know the 4 ounce bottle price.. By the time shipping bottling advertising and all the cost are added I know what should be fair for a guy to make a living and whats not. By the way the place where i bought the hog in heat gel was the same place that wanted to sell scent for 80% more. I am here with you guys and consider you my friends ,I just dont want anyone to be screwed buy a name. Tim

Well said Tim. Here in Kentucky we have a home grown deer lure, Jackie's Deer Lure. I bought it because it is bottled so close to home, it has to be fresh, right?
A couple of years ago I was hunting the same piece of land where the Kentucky State record was taken, (see avatar.)
I walked up to where the monster was shot and sprayed the lure into the air. A soft breeze carried the tiny scent molecules up the point into a thicket.
I thought to myself if there was something in there this should arose them. Before I could get the bottle out of my hand I noticed a white patch on a deer's neck.
Yes it worked, almost immediately. Bang I shot him dead. A 160 class high basket buck... Mm, mm, good!
Question: Was it the lure? Or did the deer hear me approaching and was curious. I believe it was...
