Need Video Camera input!!!

I'm shopping around for a new Video camera to do flim work!! I have narrowed it down to three cameras, Canon GL2 is nice and has a 20 power optical zoom and a low price of 1500-2000 depending on the package.
Then you have the really nice Sony PD170 with all the cool stuff and a transmitter for wireless mics...
And the Sony xv2100 which is the same camera but less the wireless mic option and both carry a big price, does anyboy have any input or have used any of these cameras???

I don't know anything about the Sony, but I have been around the Canon GL 2 some. IMO They are a good camera for being in the field, because of there size. They will fit in a pack or saddle bag, no problem! Picture quaility is good enough for video's and TV.
