I had a great day hunting the opening day of S.C. deer hunting season.Well I took my little girl to school.Then I was off to go hunting.IT was really hot, I did not think I would see any thing.I scouted around and hunted on the ground in an old turkey hunting blind.On the way out for lunch I came up on some turkeys.It was two nice longbeards and four or five hens.They did not see me at first.Then a hen spotted me and sounded the alarm putt.They did not go far though.I could still see one of the longbeards walking around.And the hens moved out into a field and began to feed.Well I went to lunch.After lunch I decided to hunt the area I had saw the turkeys earlier.I had a new Summit Viper I wanted to try out.I got up the tree and had got setteled in good.Then I see four does coming to me.From my left to my right.They got to within range of my bow but there were limbs in the way.They walked on off down the field feeding.That was really cool see them deer.This was about 4:00pm.Them at 5:30pm I hear something walking behind me.I slowly turn to my left to see a big smokey blue-gray headed hen walking to me.I was standing up so I had to stay steal.She turned left and went out into the field and feed right by me.I sat down after she left.That was cool I love turkeys.Then at 6:30pm I hear a turkey gobble.Ya thats right a turkey gobbling in September.I am sorry to say but darkness fell all aorund me and I did not get a shot at a deer.But I sure had a great time deer hunting for the first time this year.I am going again Saturday the 17th.See ya later.ncturkey
