WHAT NO DRUNKING... errr DRINKING??? I learned to deer hunt from gramps that would always take a kid with him so he could hit the ol' antifreeze harder, as whoever was with him was surely getting some EARLY driving class (on ice no less) at from 9-13 years old cuz' at 14 you would be drinking with him and he did not share much schnapps! So we were on our own by then.... And momma wonders why I like the brew... Brent

Beards??? Even my son asked when i was gonna shave as I look scruffy! I found it is MUCH cooler with than without one so not til after summer and maybe not then! I never really tried to let one go before but I found out how comfortable it is when sweating! My only hesitation comes from how bad the ticks are where i am hog hunting. Yes a beard does become a featherbrush in short order so Go for it! Brent

Ok, I went down to the farm today & work on stands so I got a picture of the machine gun stand. Looks like it sustained some rolled roofing damage during the recent storms. The bottom of the platform is at 16'

There's a pole that's obscured by one of the front legs that has metal rod type steps & it goes up to a trap door that enters the stand from the bottom. We have a padlock on the trap door so strangers can't get into it.

I once hunted in a big Stand like that in Mississippi, It had a cooler , numerous empty whiskey bottles,a recliner, and a dearborn heater. I did see a two huge bucks that day but they moved and ran at the same time I never shot I couldnt tell which was the real one. It was a fun hunt and Idid get a great deer but not that day. Tim
