What was your first deer rifle??

My first deer gun was a Mossburg 500 youth model 20 gauge with a smooth bore slug barrel. I killed a 5 pointer an hour and half into my first deer hunt when I was 12. my first deer rifle was/is a Remington 760 pump 30.06 mt dad gave me this rifle and I still use it today. If something works for you why change I have killed deer at 300 yards with this gun and have shot them at under 20 why switch?

In 1954 with my trapping money I bought a Savage Model 99 in .250/3000 cal. Shot many deer with it and one black bear and it never let me down! Now that I have many rifles to chose from -its just a pleasant memory of my first deer rifle.
