From The Whitetail Board:
[glow=green,2,300]HELLO FELLOW RACKS & SPURS HUNTERS!!![/glow]
The Racks & Spurs Club proudly presents to our great members the 2005 Fall Deer Hunting Contest! The Pro Staffers and I have been working long and hard on coming up with a great opportunity to compete while hunting this fall and give you something to look forward to when it's all said and done!
Here's the contest rules, regulations and guidelines:
[glow=red,2,300]Rules:[/glow]
1) All harvests entered into the contest must be of fair chase methods and done so legally. Any entry that is deemed to be harvested in an illegal manner in any way will be immediately disqualified from the contest.
2) All members who wish to be entered into the contest must preregister for the contest by signing up in the designated board here on the site (We will provide you with the registry board very shortly). Within your registry we will need you to include the state(s) in which you plan to hunt.
2a) We will have a final registry date deadline for those who wish to participate. If you do not sign up by the deadline, you will not qualify to be entered into the contest... NO EXCEPTIONS!
-We will only take into consideration those who may have signed up as a new member to the Racks & Spurs Club after the deadline so long as it is deemed within reasonable timeframe of that individuals respective hunting season (must be before it opens).
3) You will need to have proof of your harvest. Sorry, no "Take my word for it's". We need to have a clear picture of the animal and measurements needed to qualify the harvest officially on the boards. Pictures of your used tag is also HIGHLY recommended.
4) We will be incorporating "Teams" whereas we will split up the hunters randomly from state to state to make things fun and competitive. We will have various different categories for the opportunity to win different prizes, so just because you don't have the biggest buck on the boards doesn't mean that you don't have a chance winning something. As a team we will be providing a "special" prize to those who are on the team with the most "collective" points on the board. So encouraging your fellow team member to get up out of bed on any given day is highly encouraged as it could make or break your standings on the boards as a team!
4a) Since there will be teams we want to enforce a standard of "good behaviour". No putting other teams and/or members down or provoking arguments between each other. This is intended to be fun and enjoyable for everyone so it will NOT be tolerated at all! Doing so will result in your WHOLE TEAM being disqualified from the team prize so don't ruin it for others on your team. In such an instance (which I highly doubt we'll encounter since we have such a great tight-knit family here) the staff and myself will investigate the situation and decide what the appropriate measures to be taken will be and will be done on a case by case basis.
4b) Teams will be able to create their own team name. We would like to have "custom signatures" done up for everone on each team so that you recognize who is who and on what team.
5) The contest will be divided up by "Region". So you guys out in say GA or FL won't have to be up against those racks from TX. We will then take the biggest buck from each region given and will have a systematic approach to defining the winner overall from those reasons to find the ONE out of them that wins the big buck contest.
6) A scoring system will be in place to determine overall score and is as follows:
5 pts. for every point on the rack
5 pts. for every inch of "inside" spread
1 pt for every pound of deer "dressed"
[glow=red,2,300]Regulations:[/glow]
The contest will run from the very first day of the open season for the state that opens first through till the very last day (extended seasons included) of the last states last day of open season. All entries at that point must be in by no later than 3 days after or else it will not qualify this year! NO EXCEPTIONS!
If you have any issues with this contest you need to bring it to the attention of me or the pro staff in order for ust to better serve you in your given situation.
-Well, that's about the bulk of it all. We will include categories for the contest and also the list of prizes we have already!! Some real nice ones too!! I will post more as soon as a get a chance so let this be the start of a great and fun opportunity to enjoy the benefits of being a member here at The Racks & Spurs Club!!
We'll be keepin ya posted!
